Isn't my son too young to play Tier I hockey? What shouldn't we just wait a few years?
We have found that the earlier most players play at the Tier I (AAA) level, the easier it is for them to make the transition to the speed and competitiveness of the Tier I game, and that skills are developed more fully. A ten year old who tries out will be competing against other players who are primarily from PAHL AA programs. A thirteen year old who tries out will be competing against a number of other players who have had the benefit of two or three years of Tier I experience.
