#9: I understand that it's necessary to travel to play the best competition and participate in the top Tier I tournaments. But doesn't this mean that my son is going to miss a lot of school?

I understand that it is necessary to travel to play the best competition and participate in the top Tier I tournaments.  But doesn't this mean that my son is going to miss a lot of school?

We regard our players are true "student-athletes" and we stress the importance of academic performance to our players.  We recognize, and our players recognize, that players are attractive to collegiate programs only if they have a strong academic record and the vast majority of our players are successful academically, in large part due to the high level of responsibility that is instilled by travel hockey and our players' development of strong time management skills.  It may be expected that players on our younger teams will miss a maximum of three to four days of school, with the only exception to this being the opportunity extended to our Peewee Major team each year to participate in the legendary Quebec International Peewee Tournament that provides a unique cultural and educational experience for our players.
